U.S. Consul General Naim Ahmed visited Yellowknife and Dettah from March 8-10, 2005. While in Yellowknife, the Consul General met with senior territorial and civic officials, including The Honorable Joseph Handley, Premier, and the Honorable Glenna Hansen, former Commissioner of the Northwest Territories; Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, the Honorable Paul Delorey; His Worship Gordon Van Tighem, Mayor of Yellowknife, and senior representatives from Canadian Forces Northern Area and the RCMP. The Consul General also joined Premier Handley and students from Yellowknife's Ecole Sir John Franklin High School for a live on-line chat with former U.S. Ambassador to Canada, Paul Cellucci.
