The U.S. Commercial Service office, in the U.S. Consulate General in Vancouver, facilitates business development between U.S. and Canadian companies. The following is a brief overview of several of our programs.
CPS (Customized Provider Search) - This complimentary service assists Canadian companies to locate appropriate U.S. providers of goods and services. The company completes a one-page CPS form specifying their needs. Our office then conducts a search and delivers a list of potential U.S. providers to the company. The Canadian firm then contacts the U.S. companies directly for follow-up to determine if they wish to do business with any specific provider(s).
IBP (International Buyer Program) - Our office organizes delegations in Canada to attend major trade shows in the U.S. for a variety of sectors. The value added benefits of participation in the delegations include: 1) pre-arranged meetings with US exhibitors; 2) discounts on show registration and hotel rooms; 3) an on-site tour by the show organizer; 4) use of an International Business Centre at the show; and 5) hospitality events for the international delegations.
BuyUSA.com - Canadian companies interested in representing U.S. firms in Canada can register on-line for this business-to-business website service at no cost. The system automatically matches U.S. producers with potential representatives in different countries for the same sector/industry.
Canada Representation Database - This database consists of Canadian companies interested in representing U.S. providers of goods and services as distributors, agents, etc. for the Canadian market. Also included are Canadian firms interested in strategic alliances with U.S. companies. We will contact you when we have U.S. firms interested in the Yukon market, in your industry or sector of activity.
